How to Choose the Right Subify Plan: A Guide for Creators

With so many ways to use subtitles, it can be hard to know which Subify plan will cover your needs. Do you need burned-in subtitles on your video files, or are downloadable subtitle files enough? Are you subtitling a few videos a month or processing content daily? The right plan can save you money and help you avoid running into limits at the wrong time.

Why the right plan matters

Your plan determines how many minutes of audio or video you can process each month, what file formats you can download, and whether you have access to features like translation and burn-in. Choosing the right plan from the start means you will not run into surprises or limitations when you need to subtitle your next video.

Starting with Free

The Free plan is a no-risk way to test the service. It includes 10 minutes of processing per month, which is enough to subtitle a short video or test a few minutes of audio. You get SRT subtitle files, which work with every major platform including YouTube and Vimeo. The Free plan does not include translation or ASS formatting, but it gives you access to the full dashboard and all core features. You can sign up without providing payment information, so there is no risk.

When Solo is the right fit

If you occasionally need to burn subtitles directly into your video files, the Solo plan is a good starting point. It includes 120 minutes of processing per month, which covers about 10 to 15 average-length videos. You get both SRT and ASS subtitle files, full styling capabilities with over 150 fonts and a host of colour and styling options, dropshadows, background (with opacity slider), text outline, and burn-in video processing at five quality levels. Burn-in is available on Solo, Pro, and Enterprise plans only, so if you need this feature, make sure you are on one of those plans.

Stepping up to Pro

If you produce content regularly, such as weekly videos on YouTube or work on client projects, the Pro plan will likely be a better fit. It includes 600 minutes of processing per month, which covers most regular creators without hitting limits. Everything in Solo is included, with more room to spare. If you are unsure about your monthly needs, you can upgrade at any time and your new allowance takes effect immediately.

Audio-only plans for podcasters

If you only need subtitle files and never need to burn them into a video, the Audio Lite and Audio Plus plans may be more cost-effective. Audio Lite includes 120 minutes of processing per month, while Audio Plus includes 600 minutes. Both provide SRT and ASS files with full styling capabilities and include translation to English. The main difference from the video plans is that burn-in video processing is not available, which is fine if you only need downloadable subtitle files.

Enterprise for heavy usage

For agencies, educational institutions, or businesses that need to subtitle large volumes of content, the Enterprise plan includes unlimited monthly minutes along with all the features of the Pro plan.

Annual billing saves you money

All paid plans offer a 20 percent discount when billed annually. That is effectively two months free each year. Annual plans are charged once per year and provide the same features as monthly plans. You can still upgrade at any time if you need more minutes before the year is up.

Getting started

You can start with the Free plan to test the service, then upgrade to any paid plan at any time. There are no setup fees, no installation costs, and no hidden charges. The price shown on the pricing page is exactly what you will pay per month.
